decisive second period

2-1 first half white advantage evaporates when nori leaves for a final of 4-1 blue. despite late arrivals' propensity for unbalancing teams' chemistry, mischa and dmitri added little disruption and more talent on the pitch.
blue jerseys-

andrew, art (decent defender from andrew), john, marco, fabrizio, nasser, robin, popeye, and sam shared the spoils of victory (edge shaving cream oh yeah) and bragging rights.

kelly, philippe, naveen, khalid, ahmed, gigi, salvatore, fernaz, abraham and dmitri couldn't find the back of the net after half time tho they missed several scoring opportunities and played well.

U8 boys club friendly which followed inter, finished 3-3.

great to see philippe, and marco. both played inspired football.

robin will be travelling next sunday.

and...
as you can tell , we have more and more skilled new players to play starting at 8:30 sharp, so if you want a full 90 minutes......arrive no later than 8 or 8:15.

sideline support.

captains andrew (white) and kelly (blue) lead their teams to a rousing match including several brilliantly scored goals. john's header from fabrizio's corner was great. andrew powered a low, grass burner into lower right corner of the net which drew ahs and oles from the assembled. dmitri had two and naveen two as well to make the final 5-3.
no robin, mischa or nori today. nasser was active all day. sal's skillful corner into the upper right corner of the net was the kinda of goal most could only dream of.
marwan's soccer IQ showed up countless times during the run of play. he just makes himself available for 1-2's and counter attacks. he passed skillfully and had numerous header attempts on goal. of course all this from marwan because of his sideline support from tatiana and their pooch.
late start time for game due somewhat to daylight savings time adjustment. and several players arriving after 9:10. temps in the upper 70's- lower 80"s.

SECOND GREAT MATCH

MUDDY PITCH DISTRACTED AND CHALLENGED MISCHA'S BLUES AND DMITRI'S WHITES TO A 5-5 DRAW.
goals came from--
gigi 83', speedy 5', and john 3', 73', 78'. and
khalid pk, naveen 54', dmitri 67', and ?
nice game from eugene, sal, ryan (new, came with sal), mischa, keeper and drew.
Match started LATE and LATE arrivals were added LATE. you know LATE.
franco made sideline appearance. good to see him.
OVERALL GAME DEPORTMENT WAS, AGAIN, VERY GOOD! CONGRATS TO ALL
HALLOWEEN HANGOVER IN TWO WEEKS. BRING A FRIEND.

too much dima and john

hard working nori, gigi and kelly could not slo dima (hat trick) and john (hat trick).eugene scored for the blu as well to make it 7-4. sabel, kelly each had one and luciano scored 2 for the whites. whites were also denied countless times by brilliant work from alfredo (where are you brian bord?) whites did outscore mischa and his compadres in the second half and they also had a man advantage to work with but the mountain was too high.
mischa please send enrique's email if you have it, and dmitri do the same for eugene. assuming both new players are fit enough to continue playing.
remember to arrive at the field before 9 am. try also to recruit a few more players.
in other soccer news--- bob's son cory made solid contributions to his real socal team which started around 11:45 in the sunken field. tho the first half score was 2-0 favoring the bad guys, cory produced the only first half powerful shot on goal and he had a half dozen powerful throwins.

COMPORTMENT UNDER CONTROL

Welcome back Sal! (veterano returns from Club Idaho)

Franco, neckbrace and all, offers game comments to anyone who will listen?

Luciano completes third game without card! Also scores nice breakaway goal.
Cory and Bob on loan to club team for next three months.
Kelly and his whites stage massive second half recovery. 2-0 blues at the midpoint. and white domination thru to full time. Philippe/Nori/Cory and Oscar contain and frustrate Berny.
Nasser @55 m, @80 m, Reza @65 m and Sam @66 m frustrate Karl's bleus. Nice work from keeper Bob, carlos, gigi, dmitri, and cory.

Support focus this week on Tarzana Dominos' general manager Marco Paredes and his bf Jennifer. she of Sylmar and Vasquez H.S., provides sideline cheer and support. Jen has done some muy tai kick boxing and Marco plays organized basketball as well. quality members of the Intersoccer family.

second half "counter attack"

after trailing blues by 3 at halftime, whites cap off remarkable comeback with nori's second goal of the match at 80minutes.
reza @8m, oscar @20m, and luciano @22m had what appeared to be momentum and firepower to make it a no-contest. mischa, bierman, junior, fabrizio, john and oscar were all on the same page. they also had the extra man.
adjustments were made for the three who left at halftime and dmitri @45m, nasser @55m, philippe, robin and nori @57m and @80m went to work scoring 4 and blanking white.
skillful play all day from robin, eric, mischa, mike and fabrizio despite horrible match conditions. temps and air quality ---can you say disgusting?
sideline support provided by miretsky family and this week's featured personality, nori's tomie.
she's a mother of 5 and hails from Osaka Japan. She sells clothing, takes ballet classes and likes painting and drawing. She is newly re-inspired? to learn English because of President OBama's message.
schedule note: next week's match will start promptly at 8:15 a.m. sharp.
Yeah right. Big joke. But really tho, it's absurd to start at 9 during these dog days of summer. Try to bring a friend so we have more numbers and get to the field on time.
Final game report card deportment grade --- a solid B minus, S-S. So much nicer to play without dissent and profanity and childishness.

nice match

with the help of some new players and the cooperation and maturity of the rest, we had a nice, 3-1 match this past sunday morn on a slightly muddy pitch with great weather conditions. no cards and little dissent allowed all to go home satisfied with their efforts.
blues take it under the captaincy of joe and the leadership of mischa, marcos, nori, eric (junior), and robin.
nice job for the whites by bierman, oscar and kelly.
nice to see new players come on to add to our "sunday friendly".
brief obvious note- it's a good idea to warm up and stretch those seldom used parts of the soccer anatomy before the match. cuts down on the pulls and strains that occur when the mind wants to do what the body used to be able to do.

nice match!

thanks bob for lining the field. good luck on you tourney next week. nice work in goal too. thanks for bringing the extra recruits as well. and the extra ref duty in the second half. you did all within your power for a good result and a 4-2 loss in a good match is not too bad.
Blue team: berny, cory, eric, nasser, naveen, robin, alex l., alex, bierman, gigi, adam and matt were the victors this day.
Whites: nouri, ryan, ahmad, luciano (yellow card), oscar, joe, john, karl, mischa, bob and kelly played pretty much even up but couldn't finish enough times to be successful.
good job younguns and new players you are invited come back next week. for those with ref duty or tournaments, make us proud and good luck!

second half melt down

3-3 at half, 7-1 in the second. Nasser, kelly, bob, luciano, fernaz, abraham and tony had no answer for dmitri's whites after break. when jason replaced departing andrew, the balance had shifted. robin, joe, yusef, shevchenko and nori could do no wrong. or the blues just ran out of gas. oh well, behavior was much improved (i'm told) and the temps were tolerable.
bring a friend next week. not long before youth season begins.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

late start, 98 degrees, all survive

kelly's whites survive ordeal! (berny goes scoring wild in the end. alex loposov begins the comeback. dmitri (two goals) and the blues had matters well in hand but couldn't hold on. yusef leaves early with hammy.
nuri brilliant in defense. misha gave all he had. bob dependable in goal as always. slow day for corey. good luck next week with your tourney. nice run by naveen. luciano was LOUD as usual.
bravo whites (alex, new/alex, andrei, robert, sam, toni and kelly) for never giving up. final 6-5 and 98 degrees.
we'll need extra players next week. bob and corey to costa mesa tourney.

thanks for the support Miretsky family! Soccer tradition is passed on to next gen.

I'm playing like ^%#@ today

At halftime, "so far not a good day" waxes our profiled player BOB S.

We understand Bob, not easy keeping pace with the youngins'. (Corey today and Daniel and Nick other matches. Evan not available for quote.) Nick now in Florida with Embry Riddle.

Our Bob was born in the area and is graciously allowed to work for WVSL/Socal and his other import business by his spouse.
Bob is semi-fluent in 1.5 languages. English and Swiss/German.

Of his many career soccer hi-lites Bob includes coaching Romeo Beckham for one season.

As for the extremely late starting match, Whites prevail 4-3 behind trifecta from Berny (of course).

Nuri, Corey and Robert scored for the Blues who had many other scoring opportunities.

New player Naveen (S. Africa) will bring new player next week.
Hopefully we will have keys to the goals by then and not have to assemble any.
Nice to see Franco running and whistling (reffed first half), Yusef plays again and Andrei B. played and scored one off the post.
Let's try to start match on or before 8:30 to mitigate temps. OK?

Selecao comeback ends U.S. dream

JOHANNESBURG (AP) -- Clint Dempsey sobbed as the Americans walked up to get their second-place medals, unable to hide the pain and the disappointment any longer.
The euphoria of knocking off Spain last week dissolved Sunday in the Confederations Cup final when Brazil unleashed its "Beautiful Game."
After dominating the five-time World Cup champions in the first half, the Americans were powerless as Brazil scored three goals in the final 45 minutes to rally for a 3-2 win.
"We're at the point where we don't want respect, we want to win," said Landon Donovan, whose goal in the 27th minute gave the United States a 2-0 lead. "There's no guarantee we ever get back to a final game like this, so it's disappointing."

hot, hot, hot

"I enjoy playing with my dad because he is a good teacher. I played so-so today," remarked 10 years young Momo (little sushi). And Nori did justify his son's praise as he scored once, played tremendous defense and appeared to be everywhere on the pitch, all the time.
but alas, les bleus had no answer for jr. (header in min 78) and berny the hat trick.
a close match in the first half unraveled as the late morning temps rose and all were anxious to catch the US/ Brazil match at 11 am. oh for an early morning, cooler start time!
next match follows saturday's 4th celebration so plan on bringing a friend to up the numbers. yellow card to luciano for hand ball.
good to see joe and yusef back on the field.

nice match

whites team: nasser, kelly, bob, tony, nouri, and jim survive to play another day. nice effort by the blues: dmitri, sal!, igor, marcos, ? and mischa.
great weather and pitch OK.
igor out for China trip and sal returns to Idaho.
philippe reported out due to injury, get well soon. rehab smart!
see you all next week.

need new blood

8 v 8 is barely enough, especially if one of the eight is jim.(played keeper?) whites win after kelly rejoins team. he played blue the first half. decent game all around. white contributers were - andrew, dmitri, nasser, igor, eric, adam, jaime and jim.
this holiday weekend may be short sided as well. bring a friend.
ref will be visiting infirm mom in Texas so not available for service.
have a great holiday.

kissing your sister 4-4 tie

two hat tricks

yasno jr. had one and nasser the other. luciano scoring at 22m and igor late in second period rounded out the tallies.

yellow card to luciano (dangerous play).

welcome back tobias! a gentleman,
welcome back alex from 2 months in europe. junior returns from the road as well. his son's team doing well but the parents are only so-so.
bord in nets and omar in scoring qualify for the brilliant plays of the match. bord goes horizontal (amazing, unbelievable i know) to deflect wicked shot to his left. standing ovation! omar finishes from an assist with a beautifully driven shot upper right corner of the net. "spectacular", remarked robin.

welcome to newcomers lee and john. shout outs to Lubo and adam (nasser's son) for nice games. and dmitri had some assists too.

pitch bumpy and uneven but ok.
gooooooo west valley inter!!!!!!!!!!!

dmitri's last word

dmitri outpicks and out plays kelly on a spectacular sunday morning match. Final 6-2 blues over whites. how to account for such a result? dima offers this explanation, " we had smart players and we passed. all scores came off ball movement. and we didn't have 5 strikers". whites did play one player down when Sam (Egypt) left with a calf strain. but they did have some chances. several excellent crosses went begging and more than 1 shot banged off the crossbar. corey 42min and nasser 50 min were all kelly's peeps could manage. for les bleus, dmitri at 63m, 73m, bob at 22m and 67m, luciano at 21m bombed their opposition.
to mention several nice plays, luciano had a nice dummy which led directly to a goal.robert had a nice follow goal as the keeper served a delicious rebound and philippe dribbled the entire field (as he is wont to do occasionally) only to lay off a pass for an easy goal. MORE IMPORTANT tho is the general "tenor" of the match. --- Priceless. just a little dissent from luciano, a brief but significant profanity from berny (yellow card) and that was about it.
omar in town for a brief visit. nice to see his talent on the field. see ya next time. tony had a nice game. heck, almost everyone played over their usual level.

Friday, April 24, 2009

who was that guy?

welcome back brian. nice job for the whites (romania, nori, philippe, nasser, kelly, fab., nick and eric) in goal. final burny 5, eric 1 and 1 for young yasno from the whites. allowing only one goal after an extended hiatus, bord played agitated defense to seal the deal. philippe offered encouragement to the blues at half time encouraging them to "not give up, you're doing great". asked about his game readiness, bord acknowledged that he was just getting his timing back and that standards had dropped considerably since he had been away. truth be told, the match was "a contest" well into the second period when romania decided to continue his offensive onslaught. blues maintained composure but were alas, no match in the end. game notes-- nori will be away for 3 weeks and the overall "climate" of the game was satisfactory.

sanctions

easter sunday began on a positive note. it was 3 nil to the blues as the injured ref arrived. and remarkably, there had been no ref to that point.
the score mounted to 4-1 in the second half as nicholas bemoaned as how he was having an "off" day. (even after nick scored, he still felt uncomfortable) then the screaming and mayhem began- the match became irretrievably lost. game was shortened and discipline dispensed according to:
LAW 12 – FOULS AND MISCONDUCT
Sending-off Offences
A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any
of the following offences:
• serious foul play
• violent conduct
• spitting at an opponent or any other person
• using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
• receiving a second caution in the same match
A player, substitute or substituted player who has been sent off must
leave the vicinity of the field of play and the technical area.

sanctions of one month to mike lockwood, two months to khalid, and 4 months to mo. one month equals 4 matches. etc.
the laws of the game must be respected. they must be enforced to insure our field permit. props to all who helped to calm the situation.
many players had great composure and demeanors. the majority enjoyed the friendly moments of sunday soccer.
look forward to next week!

DECENT MATCH. TOO MUCH ROMANIA

BERNY PUT A STAMP AND AN EXCLAMATION POINT ON A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE TODAY. (hat trick and energized, inspired play) Whites played well in back and controlled the midfield as well. Mischa forced out early in second half due to leg issue which brought the teams to 10 per side. other scoring included nick 68 min., nasser 42 min., luciano 27 min., and for the blues---young andrew had two or three tallies. FINAL 6-3.
credit to other whites for staying somewhat organized and harmonious : ahmad, robert, igor, tony, and adam. Good game for bierman, fabrizio, jaime, robin, dmitri, philippe and eric for the blues.
yellow card to luciano and warning for yelling on the pitch.
BEAUTIFUL WEATHER TODAY.

WELCOME BACK MISCHA!

Long gone but not forgotten, Mischa returned to the pitch this Sunday with skills if not stamina still evident.
whites win 5-4 in a hotly contested affair.
Ahmad scores the hat trick +one and Lucas scores the final and winning goal of the match.
Nice support on white team from georg, junior, mo, nickolas, fabrizio and bob.
philippe, nasser scored one each and khalid had two.
next week we have the field but following that, there is a Real SoCal tournament.
Try to arrive for our game between 8 and 8:15. don't be left out on all the fun.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

omar leaves with a bang.

before catching a plane to Lebanon, omar decided to join andy's Blues for a satisfying and spirited match at the pitch. final score 7-3. white scorers--dmitri @72min, khalid @66min, and luciano @41min. for the blues: corey had 2, andy had 2, georg 1, nasser 1, and omar 1.
sounds like a rout? leading to squabbles? no way jose. there was composure and maturity. robin did leave early with an injured calf, joe left injured as well. mike just left. so 1 game suspension. good to see yusef attempt to play again. and gotta give bob props for enduring the humility came from his son's fresh served volleys.
great to have franco on the pitch as well. good job senor.

too much dima

SAME START TIME NEXT WEEK. (8) WE WILL COMMENCE WHEN WE HAVE 5 A SIDE AND ADD TO THE MIX AS LAGGERS ARRIVE.

blog address is http://intersoccergroup.blogspot.com

hat trick to dmitri. he scored at 12m, 59m and on a PK. robert scores 2 for the blues and gets little thanks but much drama. --- undeserved and not right. andy scores nice goal as well at 55m. yellow card to #27 for dissent. fine game from nori who scored at the 80m mark to end the scoring. pretty day but too much trash talk from the blues who were led nicely by omar, junior, and philippe.

young gun could not be silenced!

blog address--
http://intersoccergroup.blogspot.com

papas and sons enjoying a friendly morning at the park.

despite warnings of dire consequences, the youth mounted continuous attacks into blues' vaunted defense. lucas broke thru in the 77th and 49th minutes eliciting ahs and oohs from the fans and fathers on hand. playing tirelessly and with no fear, young ladek gave karl's whites enough satisfaction to ameliorate the 7-4 final score. check his post game comment.
white scores from jamil, berny (2) before his injury, omar, luciano and nasser. props to karl and his teams' never give up or make excuses attitude. temps low 60s but nice. lines need to be redrawn, and pitch produced many bad hops. yellow card to luciano (persistent dissent) warning to luciano for delay of game. nice efforts from andy, junior, omar, young bierman, kelly, oscar, julio, robin, joe and tony.
NOTICE, NOTICE, NOTICE. NEXT WEEK WE MUST BE DONE WITH OUR MATCH BY
TEN A.M. REGARDLESS OF WHEN WE START. youth spring league starts.

dissent and drama level this week 1 to 10, 10 being atrocious ==6+. thanks steve and robert.

romanian connection

Early strikes by Romanians Hosu Bernhard (Berny) at 1min and Robert at 16min, along with young Nick schwarz, shake the blues into disorder and argument.

But young yasno would not hear of it, he played spirited defense and then scored two (32 min, 42 min) to make a game of it.
it remained 3-2 to igor's whites until 5 min. into stoppage time when dmitri ended what could have been an improbable but remarkable blues' recovery at 3-3.
oh the lost opportunities!
congrats to the other whites who teamed to preserve a hard fought advantage-- nori, frank, andy (slight injury), robin, bierman (solid defense), caesar (slight injury-left early), luciano (yellow card-dissent and yelling) and juan (great in net).
great job steve officiating.
final 4-2. temps great, pitch adequate.

between the storms

slightly less than friendly out there today. nipping at anothers' ankles, muttered dissent, cheap comments and arguments somewhat pervasive today but none of it came from the player who scored the first goal of the match with his position and by his head---caesar. nor was it particularly from the hat trick player luciano who was relatively quiet by his standards. and his scoring was the difference. dmitri's whites prevail 6-3. mike had a nice header for goal and andy scored as well but white was too strong. robin was strong in back again and juan saved at least 4 sure strikes to preserve their advantage. props to kelly and marco for general all round good behavior and support. and thanks to robert for assisting ref duties in second half. nori played with exuberance once more, he has soo much fun out there. would that that were true for all .

Sunday, February 1, 2009

support is building!

thanks to all inter players who stepped up to support the officials during the "friendly" today. jamil's blues win it 3-2 but white team gave valiant efforts to the end. scoring as follows: for the blue team- junior 6m, and 9m first half. dmitri 13m second half. white team- young yasno 11m second half, and kelly 41m (assist yasno) also second half.

featured player of the week is yori. he's 28, he's a sushi chef, and he loves to play soccer with our group. he hopes to become one of our "regulars" soon. he has a friend who is in china now who may like to "try out" for us when he returns.

again, thanks to all who kept their composure and supported the officials on the pitch. disposition of the field problems today coming soon.

Sunday, January 25, 2009

where did they all come from? nice match

nice match.
dmitri's hat trick in second period was the difference for igor and philippe's blues. and they played decent defense as well. nice job bob in goal. two early scores from french mike gave white half time lead. (tony scores blues' lone first half goal.) but then dmitri took over. other blues contributors were: oscar, corey, andy, romania, mo, romy, andrei, and nasser. White standouts included: nori, bierman, richard, khalid, robinho, fabrizio, eric, marwan, georg and young yasno captains.
yellow cards to dmitri (dissent), andrei (profanity) and red card to fabrizio (dissent and profanity). red cards of course, recieve one game suspension. persistent cards question is being addressed by the "board". further info to follow.
and what great weather! low 60's and slightly treacherous pitch but all in all, a nice game.
nice to see hussan back and thanks to bob and romania for assistance in refereeing.
see video interviews.

Sunday, January 4, 2009

now that's more like it!

what a match! jamil's whites surprise the overtalented, dominating blues 4-2 on a windy and cold but exhilarating day. after 3-1 (whites ad) first half showing, blues could manage only one young yasno score (assist cory) thereafter. it was marwan's header from fabrizio's corner at 85 minutes that was the decider. sure blues had multiple opportunities in mad scrambles around the net near the end of the match but the keeper (jamil) would not allow any such business. others playing well for the victors were: georg, igor, nuri, dmitri, andy, and oscar. props to kelly's able performers: philippe, andrew, oscar, junior, marco, julio, bierman, bob, bierman, mo, robin, swiss mike and cory.
note of great importance!!! no major problems. that's right, you heard me. no screaming, no arguments, no cards, little english profanity, little dissent, few critical remarks to fellow teammates.

so i can only conclude that i was at the wrong pitch. my bad.

nice to see steve back with his friends. great seeing all the youngins' and their proficient level of play. we also witnessed quite smooth subbing transitions. we had 28 on the field today. good to see philippe with new (scoring)boots.
nuri will be gone for next week. have a nice journey.
get better franco and andrei. also thanks andrei for reffing today. good luck on your rehab.
