Disruptive behavior, leave it home. NEW YEARS DAY MATCH ANNOUNCED. BRING A FRIEND. GAME START TIME CRITICAL.

Take some time off for mental health!
Feisty, testy behavior from a few results in early dismissal of game.
ANYONE WHO CANNOT CONTROL TEMPER FOR A WEEKLY, "FRIENDLY" PICK UP GAME NEEDS TO REEVALUATE.
THERE WILL CERTAINLY BE A WINNER AND "LOSING TEAM" EACH WEEK. AND, CRITICAL REMARKS OF OTHERS DURING A GAME SERVES NO PURPOSE.
AND, THOSE WHO HAVE AN AGENDA ABOUT WHO THEY WILL PASS TO AND WHO THEY WILL NOT, DEMOLISH THE ESSENCE OF THE TEAM GAME. GET A LIFE OR CHOOSE ANOTHER SPORT.
Mature players are sources of calm and fairness no matter what the score. In our game, we have 3-4 players who embarass themselves week by week with loud divisive behavior. And we know who they are. The 20 or so cooperating others try to enjoy the match despite such shenanigans.
Nice goals from marco (2), dmitri (3), andy (1), and robert (1).
Nice defense from igor, nuri, bruce, joe and robin. Good to see Yusef out for a run. Excellent hustle from Luciano for first two third of game.
Thanks to all who kept their tempers in check. Congrats to Jamil's Blues: igor, marco, nuri, bruce, dmitri, luciano, lawrence, andy, yusef, joe and tony. Final score 6-3.
What a glorious day! Weather perfect, pitch nearly so. Where are you Brian and Steve. Take care.

NEW YEARS DAY MATCH ANNOUNCED. THURSDAY JAN. 1. BE ON TIME BRING A FRIEND.

Yellow card to Romy (profanity) and Red Card to Nasser.

Listen to Dmitri's comments on the source of his goal scoring prowess.

first half /second half cruel fate

every player has at least two sides. this man scored two brilliant goals in first half only to be abused by fate (strained knee) and woefull keeper skills in the second half. his attitude and demeanor though are --- priceless. listen to his comments.

yellow cards to jason (profanity) and kelly's brother (profanity) and of course luciano (take your pick) could not tarnish the fabulous weather and excellent pitch conditions and the match's outcome. congrats to winners: captain kelly (2), anchor igor, yuki?, nasser (2), ahmad, fabrizio, luciano, jamil, mike (2), and jason.
nice efforts in defeat by junior, robin, bob, joe, tony and marco-(get some sleep.)
have a great holiday and new year. brian where are you? steve and jan, condolences and take care. any inter player out there in injured reserve or too busy with whatever, cheer and good tidings to you all. ho ho ho. no thursday game.

before the deluge

nice temps and empty Pierce College sees blues rally from 4-2 deficit to finish 7-6 winners in extra time. "i like playing with these youngsters," said Georg after the match. They know what to do not like some of these O. G.'s who are just hard headed and stuck in their ways. Key factor of note? defender Yuki traded from white to blue team at half. Did he make the difference? turn the tide? hard to say. whites did seem to have enough fire power but they probably didn't leave enough defenders back. nice goals in second period to lockwood and dmitri but an autogoal, two corey goals and two julio goals proved too much. congrats to blues: georg, oscar, junior, jaime, mo, richard, karl, robin, tony, vic, and corey + subs. and then there was luciano. contributing a bit of everything. 1 goal. baffling keeper play, a handball, a yellow card and sending off for profanity, and assorted grunts and unrecognizable other words. young junior to go on vacation. bob plans serious talk with corey re scoring against papa. several players will attempt rehab and we all await days of rain. have a good shopping season.

Ouch!

Michael Ballack has a spot of target practice, trying out his new Predator boots. He takes aim at a hoop, which is held up by a trainer at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground. However, instead of getting the ball through the hoop, he smacks it right into the trainer’s family jewels - which is precisely where he was aiming it. The trainer is adidas client Mark Whitehead, who, unsuspectingly ends up taking one for the team. You’ve got balls Mark (in certain respects).

hail the youngsters!

outstanding contribution by youngsters leads to faster more technical match. marco, ahmad, junior, adam, oscar, cory push viejos to better play. oscar caps scoring with brilliant blast from left side to upper right corner of net. final 4-3 in stoppage time. other scorers for white came from victor (2), and jason. nasser, junior and ahmad score for kelly's blues. nice job in nets by fabrizio and bob. solid play from defenders on both sides tho they should be rewarded with a no sub clause in their contract. refusniks and strikers will be watched to the goal of moving them back on defense and goalie after one half of offensive "glory" you know who you are! EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY DEFENSE AND KEEPER during a game. and... there is no rule or law in the handbook that the team that yells the loudest or harasses their own players the most will win the game. quite the contrary. ta ta for now.

who were those strangers?

who were those "new" players?
unfamiliar players with names like georg, spyder, bob, caesar, fernando and salvatore showed up for a decent 3-2 match. items of note: philippe injures big toe, andrew scores hat trick, and nasser wins loudest "shouter" of the game award.
spyder chips keeper for early blue lead and that's how the first period ended. drew scores nutmeg goal on sal and then one good goal. marco equalized near full time and then young yasno scored golden goal. white captain karl's strategy of using "senior" defenders (robin/juan) paid off. nice work by bob in goal as well.
both teams had trouble shooting or heading on frame. probably 5 minutes lost during each half chasing wide and high shot attempts. oh well, next week shooting percentages are bound to go up...... probably.
special note-- keepers for this match were tony, marco, sal, new brit, joe, bob, kelly and andy. shouldn't they at minimum be second choice if not exempt, to play arquero for next match? (16 of 24 played the field and never went in).
igor not available for next two matches.
have a nice trip back salvatore.

a tale of two halves

khalid equalizes 3 minutes from end of extra period. it appeared that whites' improbable come back after a 3-1 first half would stand up but alas the unpopular 4-4 result. dmitri was put in check only to have junior actually complete his hat trick. ahmad rounded out whites' scoring. bon voyage to bruce from down under and welcome back bierman. nice work put in by andy as well. dearth of volunteers for goalie duty resulted in, once more, yelling and finger pointing. if everyone wishes, referee (me) can keep track of who has and who hasn't done his fair turn in under the arc. also, please arrive on time for the Turkey Day game. 8 am would be nice. We might need a few extra players as well. The game for next Sunday is still on too.

pulmonary insanity

resolute footballers are rarely dissuaded from their regular activities. despite disastrous air quality, elvis' whites ( khalid, oscar, fabrizio, victor, richard, ahmed, juan and dmitri) pull off an astounding 7-3 thrashing. welcome back elvis. most brilliant goal of the match from igor in the second period. no one could thwart his run down the left flank. eluding nearly half the blues, yasno's strike produced a glimmer of hope but alas it was not to be. young andrew scores in the first half and adam produces the second and final mark of the last period.
serious cautions go out to adam and big andrei for their shameful altercation. should have been carded. my bad. and romy left match and game in a huff. was told not to return for next match. everyone call franco to wish him speedy recovery. 345-7295. where are you brian? bierman? steve?

late start/ swallowed whistle

WHAT A MATCH?! White team (andrew, julio, andy, khalid, igor, dmitri, marco, fabrizio, robin, and lawrence) perserveres 6-5 with help from 2 autogoals from Mo and 5 yellow cards to Luciano. Windy conditions and dry hard pitch precluded much brilliant technique but there was no dearth of testerone and foul language. Resolved----- profanity must be from language other than English. Nice to see marwan who looks great as he prepares for 40+ body building competion in near future. Also, if you have time, give Franco a call (345-7295) as he has had an accident that keeps him from his second all time favorite activity. Lastly, try to arrive and be ready to play closer to 8:30 as many players' schedules do not allow late morning matches. Also, we may be back to fewer other players at Pierce because high school season will start soon.

muddy pitch

rain has abated, pitch is "playable" and da boys had a 8-6 good time. brilliant goals by adam (nifty footwork around and thru almost the entire team) and one by karl (intercepting a clearing goalie kick with his body and calmly walking the ball into the net.) honorable mention to oscar for his dominant offensive prowess (4 tallies) your turn to talk trash blues as you played one player down in the first period but still had more possession and control of the ball. omar leaving for lebanon soon, so best wishes and stay safe. see ya soon. ttfn

the sky is falling!!

after a tumultuous week for all things financial, da boys settle it up out on the pitch. the yasno connection proved to be the deciding factor as father and son each scored and pretty much would not allow romy's whites to go down. (other members of winning team: fabrizio, robin, eyad, mo, luciano, tony and franco.) 10 v 10. still some difficulty managing keeper selection, and we also had several extra refs on the field dissenting on too many occasions. final score, 3-2 to the whites.

sunday scorcher

tough but well played game ends 3-3 to no one's satisfaction.
scorers: victor, joey, richard, philippe and ?
new field prooved no consequence to returning footballer franco pau who show brief flashes of his former self.
short sides of 10 v 10 provided ample passing opportunities and a more flowing game.
reminder to all, sign up soon for your required 4 matched to officiate for the pierce permit. give karl you info and do your duty! minimum requirement is 2 matched 2 times (or more) also consider inviting new players to augment those poor souls among us who should be leaving to find venues more suited to their combattive dispositions and who do not see the reason why we must volunteer to ref youth games.
new invitees should have good people skills and decent soccer skills wouldn't hurt either.

CAESAR LIMA CLOSES IN ON RIVALDO

HEADLINE - Caesar closes in on Rivaldo.....

Thursday, August 28, 2008, Malibu.....

Caesar Lima, noted Samba Boy Footballer, closed in on Rivaldo's scoring records by putting five, yes count them five, balls into the back of the onion sack in a fiercly fought battle at Malibu Bluffs Field. The crowds were cheering somewhere as Ping Pong Mong, Wu Fu Chu , Loopy Legs Paul and Bend it like Nili could not match the Brazillian's moves and finishing. Yes he is a legend in his own mind.

9 v 9 horse race

blue dominated from beginning (3 nil after 7 min.) and were up 5-3 at half. kelly had chosen well again. but white found their rhythm and passed circles around a hapless and undermanned blue defense to record 9 goals in the second period. simple and basic team passing soccer produced the rout. omar had 4 goals for white and one for blue. khalid had 3 and luciano, igor and robin rounded out the scoring. none more powerful, beautiful and brilliant than robin's lazer strike (see photo). dmitri and oscar left at half. no yellows issued today. wuu huu! dmitri 2, marco 2 and karl had 1 in a valiant but losing effort. plans to have omar pick both teams next week may produce more balanced sides. summer winding down and league set to begin after labor day so be prepared to be on best behavior soon. let's be good examples for the kids if possible. feel free to comment on the blog or the game. keep it constructive and positive of course.

Inter new players

I've invited new players to join us every Sunday! :-)
These look like an ad campaign for some lingerie brand, but it’s just a World Cup special from Chinese Esquire magazine.

second half shut out

omar and his troups shut down vaunted blue attack in second period to preserve 2 nil advantage. one early goal from luciano (questionable, as shot came off crossbar then bounced up into net which many claimed was "outside" goal area. final determination made by center judge backed up by assistant ref.) one late first half goal came from omar. the rest of team white: khalid, marco, nasser, eyad, fernando, josef, tony, jamil, dmitri. notes- brian unable to continue in second period due to back issue, igor played stellar defense but had no opportunity to venture upfield into the offense, adam played well in spots but generally well marked by marco, marwan had many touches but unlucky in finishing and passing, caesar sorted out the midfield well, and juan played brilliantly in goal again. suggestion from caesar to include pix of pretty women on our blogspot to increase participation. any other ideas? again remember, league starts first week of september, inter fees for new season coming and poor field behavior must stop! go USA!

august inter

philippe and nasser score for whites first half and eyad and khalid score for the blues. 2-2 at half . second half went to the team with more stamina and cohesion. khalid crosses to marcos who scores. andy scores, and then kelly adds fifth goal for white. igor answers with one goal which is the single blue tally in final period. noted performers include: omar (played all over the field and even had an extended stint in nets), juan (nice job at keeper and in the midfield. also had several quality shots on goal). tony and robin played their solid games and steve did well enough. joe leaves early for injury. yellow cards to luciano (mr. cardmaster) and ahmed, both for profanity.
item of interest. profanity, screaming, dissent are all cardable offenses and need to be cleaned up by the players who have never known or continually forget about this feature of football. continued accumulation of yellow cards, game after game is intolerable. expect ruling on this to be forthcoming. basically a nice game. final 5-3 whites. kelly wins 3 in a row.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

that was a close one!

tight 1-1 match at half time stayed contentious thru full time, blues winning it 5-4. kelly pk (b) and rich (w) netted all the early scores. second period went to luciano and marco- 3 scores and karl's header the difference. khalid redeems first half yellow card somewhat 27 min. beyond the mid time break. fernando and omar also scored for whites. props to kelly's niece in from Wash. state who sent many white challenges a begging. have made corrections to many email addresses and have resent many. please log in and also please make a positive comment on the blog site. you need to create a google account or your 30 day guest privileges will expire.
again, we will need ref volunteers soon and we also will need to "clean up our act" when the league starts. maybe we should just trade away (disinvite) any one who has recieved continual cautions and cards. you know, the loud, argumentative ones. maybe this week we'll have a grown up game.

a game of streaks

whites score early and easily (3 in first 16 minutes) but blue settles down with 4 unanswered to make Kelly winning captain again. eyad steals outlet pass and scores. philippe scores 2 then Richard heads in rebound for final tally. Yellow cards to Luciano (profanity)and Khalid (dissent) punctuate a raucous, combattive affair. We did have a new captain this week (Dmitri) and the score was within parameters yet the behavior still leaves a lot to be desired. When the league starts in August all Inter will have to be on good behavior. (youth and official spectators) All Inter will be asked to referee a number of youth games. We will not maintain our permit and relationship with Pierce and Real SoCal unless we clean up our act and we must also volunteer to ref.
Update. more invitees have figured how to sign in to this new Inter site! I have reinvited several people. Some several times. I assume some are not interested.

is anybody out there?

no comments and no new members despite reinvitation of 26 members. oh well. this is the second posting this week, maybe no one has checked their email this summer. i thought the last posting was brilliant, but that's just me. comments?

strange tale of two halves

looked like a great but low scoring match at half time but things got quickly out of hand. 2-0 is a fair measure of the balance created by the white and blue captains. so what went so terribly wrong you ask? white did eventually find the back of the net 4 times but blue went on a rampage. credit in huge amounts to all players who finished the game under trying circumstances. it isn't easy. no one enjoys a blow out--- i think. this one became an deluge. some say the winners had too much youth. some say the teams were extremely poorly chosen. some blamed the refs. oh well. only one card (yellow ,mo) and no riots. considering incidents occuring during football matches thru history, this one was relatively innocuous. i said "relatively" enywaz, no one had a poor game and some fun was had by all. even the "caesar hecklers" on the sideline. and by the by, please look for the comment section on this site and do so constructively.i have sent invitations to 38 inter members but so far only 10 or so have logged in. let me know if you're having problems with this.
p.s. where else can you have so much fun trying to recapture the glory days of your youth? don't take everything so serious! the teams will be different next week. we may even have new volunteer team captains. what a concept!

new group journal

sunday, june 29, 2008.

1-1 tie rudely broken by brilliant goal from philippe around the blue keeper oscar 15 minutes from full time. late tally from bob's son? finishes the game off and quiets kelly and his cohorts. great to see jet lag doesn't slow karl (in from hawaii). other scores from dmitri and andrew. several cautions and cards dispensed as the tense match screamed to its finish. better to let your feet do the talking rather than the temper. thanks to franco and all the level headed supporters among the players. maybe next week will look much better. red cards, as a topic/strategy was brought up.
all reply posts must be positive and constuctive. you know.. like the big boys. the sight will be discontinued unless used properly.
